Youth are considered for admission upon evaluation of the following criteria:
- Youth who are determined to have needs that can be met through the services we provide.
- Youth who are between the ages of 12 and 18. Youth who are over the age of 18 may remain in our program, but may not be admitted after they turn 18.
- Youth who have been determined to be seriously emotionally disturbed, and who have been diagnosed by a mental health professional to have a serious mental disorder. Youth who exhibit active psychosis or suicidality may require hospital stabilization prior to admission.
- Youth with emotional disturbances/mental disorders of a severe and persistent nature and require 24-hour treatment and supervision under the direction of a mental health professional. Less restrictive treatment services have been tried and are documented to be insufficient to meet the youth's severe and persistent clinical and treatment needs.
- Youth exhibiting average intellectual capabilities (youth within borderline intellectual functioning will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis).
