Every day is an opportunity to give back to your favorite organization, school, non-profit or community. #GivingTuesday is a way to give back to all of these on a national spectrum. On November 28th, people around the nation take one day and focus on giving back to organizations that make a difference in the lives of others. #GivingTuesday brings people together from different backgrounds and ethnicities, all with the same purpose, to encourage and celebrate giving to others.
Cathedral Home for Children is proud to announce that we are participating in this wonderful event again this year. So, what does this mean to you as a reader? This means that we invite you to donate on November 28th to Cathedral Home for Children. Give what you can; whether it is one dollar or two hundred dollars. Any amount helps us to be able to provide the necessary resources to youth and families in our program. Whether the youth are in our Residential Treatment Program, in one of our Crisis Centers or are receiving guidance through our Community Prevention Programs. We invite you to join us in making a positive difference in someone’s life today by donating.
On November 28th, we will share with you the impact that your donation has on youth and families. For the next few weeks, we will be keeping you up to date with what is happening here at Cathedral Home for Children via our social media accounts. We will feature stories from our Executive Leadership members whom have experienced our mission first hand and have seen the power or relationship building contribute to the successes of so many young people. We hope that their stories will truly impact you, giving you a sense of why your gift can make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth and their families.

Welcome to the first ever Cathedral Home for Children (CHC) blog post! We are happy you are here!
As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, we are always looking for creative ways to communicate our mission to those around us; not only to those who make the valuable work that we do with youth and families possible, but also to those that are curious to learn more about how our relationship based approach creates a catalyst for change.
Every day, we are introduced to heartbreaking stories of abuse, drug addiction and violence and every day we are amazed by the strength and perseverance that emerges when a child is given a helping hand and a chance to succeed in life. Restoring hope, strengthening relationships and building futures is our mission and our relationship based approach to healing is at the core of everything that we do. It’s in every classroom at our Mae Olson Education Center, in every therapeutic group that we facilitate with our residential clients and in every family session that we oversee in our crisis centers and our Extended Families Programs.
Through this medium, we look forward to sharing the guiding principles behind our mission and diving into the impacts that building healthy relationships and providing a sense of belonging can have on youth whom have experienced extensive trauma in their lives. In the coming weeks, it is our goal to provide you with information that is imperative to the success of our clients, both within our residential program and within our community programs. We will tap into the knowledge of our highly trained staff and share first hand experiences of those that work in the trenches on the day to day.
We hope you will join us as we share with you, all that is Cathedral Home for Children! Thanks for stopping by!
