Welcome to the first ever Cathedral Home for Children (CHC) blog post! We are happy you are here!
As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, we are always looking for creative ways to communicate our mission to those around us; not only to those who make the valuable work that we do with youth and families possible, but also to those that are curious to learn more about how our relationship based approach creates a catalyst for change.
Every day, we are introduced to heartbreaking stories of abuse, drug addiction and violence and every day we are amazed by the strength and perseverance that emerges when a child is given a helping hand and a chance to succeed in life. Restoring hope, strengthening relationships and building futures is our mission and our relationship based approach to healing is at the core of everything that we do. It’s in every classroom at our Mae Olson Education Center, in every therapeutic group that we facilitate with our residential clients and in every family session that we oversee in our crisis centers and our Extended Families Programs.
Through this medium, we look forward to sharing the guiding principles behind our mission and diving into the impacts that building healthy relationships and providing a sense of belonging can have on youth whom have experienced extensive trauma in their lives. In the coming weeks, it is our goal to provide you with information that is imperative to the success of our clients, both within our residential program and within our community programs. We will tap into the knowledge of our highly trained staff and share first hand experiences of those that work in the trenches on the day to day.
We hope you will join us as we share with you, all that is Cathedral Home for Children! Thanks for stopping by!
