Enrichment Programs
The Community Service Program provides children with valuable experiences as volunteers and from a therapeutic standpoint, and gives the children a chance to give back and to see that they are part of a community. Local projects include work in the Soup Kitchen; visiting with nursing home patients; and cleaning two miles of highway margin. In the summer, children participate in projects which involve camping, horse packing, and travel around Wyoming. Projects have included rehabilitating ranchland to open prairie; repairing Forest Service trails or painting outbuildings; and assisting the Wyoming Department of Game and Fish with summer projects. In 1995, we were named the Wyoming Department of Game and Fish “Volunteer of the Year” for our efforts in wildlife conservation. This program teaches our children the value of public service and builds their confidence by showing them that they have something to offer the world.
