Mission Statement

Perpetuating a Legacy of Love

The importance of relationships guides our philosophy and treatment. Each of the six cornerstones of our philosophy springs from an understanding of the need each person has for healthy relationships.

These cornerstones include:

  • Belonging - creating a healthy social support network, healthy sense of trust and decrease in abusive behaviors
  • Responsibility - giving ownership of lives, behaviors, and emotions, leading to success
  • Autonomy - learning to think for themselves creates independent adults
  • Hope - joy and resiliency
  • Mastery - learning to meet challenges and demonstrate competence
  • Spirituality - allows children to look beyond themselves and to maintain personal strengths

Cathedral Home teaches children how to create healthy relationships between residents, staff, friends, and family. They are given responsibility and autonomy in appropriate and increasing amounts and encouraged to show mastery over their achievements. Each child has hope of the future and encouraged to discover their own spirituality.
