pursuing justice

Our trauma-informed care recognizes the impacts of marginalization and leads us to pursue true justice for our clients and communities.

justice looks like

equity

means fair access to opportunity & advancement. Equity recognizes that advantages and barriers exist and that as a result, people have different needs

belonging

is an outcome based on diversity, equity, and ensuring that we, our policies, and our programs are truly inviting to all

social justice

is compassionate care that improves systems and guides access to equity, opportunity, and fair treatment

diversity

is the presence of differences related but not limited to gender, race, religion, education, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and disability

advancing equity

Cathedral Home is committed to advancing equity and justice for our clients and communities (and beyond). To best provide trauma-sensitive care, we recognize the negative impacts of racial trauma and marginalization and advocate for change. Through active social justice groups for staff and clients; Cathedral Home is highly aware of and continually working to build equity of care and life.

We take action by ensuring an equity focus in:

  • provision of services to youth and families

  • education and mentorship of youth

  • recruitment, retention, and employment practices

  • collaboration with stakeholders

By intentionally expanding our awareness of traumatic lived experiences like racism, inequity, and injustice, we provide more compassionate, client-centered care.

we’re tackling disparities & moving forward with hope
