We recognize the valuable role that educational development plays in the overall treatment and success of our clients.
On our residential campus, classroom assignments at Mae Olson Education Center (MOEC), are often geared toward helping clients hone skills and discover hobbies and passions. Our education staff help students with credit recovery, career-building opportunities, and preparation for post-secondary education.
Residential Treatment FAQs
-
Youth are generally referred and placed in our residential program via the court system or school district, as these entities secure funding for education, room/board, and therapeutic services. Unfortunately, private insurance (including Medicaid, BCBS, CIGNA) and/or mental health waiver does not reimburse residential placement for Wyoming youth, hence why other agencies secure funding. (Private insurance and/or waiver may pay for Psychiatric Residential Treatment, however, which is considered a higher level of care). With this said, if there is alternative means in which residential services can be paid for, we are happy to explore this.
-
If the court system/DFS/HHS/school district supports out-of-home placement and is willing to take on the financial piece, the case worker will reach out directly to Cathedral Home to make a referral. If a family/guardian is able to fund placement, he/she/they can send the youth’s information to be considered by referral committee for placement consideration.
-
Yes. Our residential program often admits youth from surrounding states like Nebraska and South Dakota.
