Care in action.

Our volunteers play a vital role in supporting the environment that makes healing possible.

Our volunteering approach is intentional.

Your care matters, and we are grateful you are here with us to give your time, energy and skill to our programs. The youth and families we serve are often at a vulnerable point in their lives. Cathedral Home is careful to intentionally protect our clients’ privacy, ensure therapeutic boundaries, and build trust and consistency in making their own spaces private and comfortable. This means volunteers generally do not work directly with youth in our programs, but instead support the environment of care that allows healing to happen.

Here are some of the ways our volunteers contribute to care:

  • Set up events, including the annual Open Barn and Cathedral Cup Golf Tournament

  • Provide small construction, repair, or painting skill and labor

  • Coordinate highway cleanup around our Residential campus

  • Build food-share bags for the community from our Residential pantry

  • Assemble Welcome Kits (cozy socks, journals, pens/pencils, fidgets, small toiletries)

  • Support staff through notes of encouragement

  • Sponsor a meal or treats for cottages

  • Prepare mass mailings through labeling and stuffing envelopes

  • Make handmade blankets or hats for each client

  • Translate materials from English to Spanish to expand access

  • Hang posters or deliver materials in the Laramie area

  • Offer knowledge as a guest speaker at our on-campus school, the Mae Olson Education Center (volunteers will be with CHC staff)

  • Host a fundraiser or drive. Here is our current Wishlist for drive ideas.

Let’s get connected.

Let us know how we can connect with you. We will notify you when we have opportunities come up, and you can decide which ones work best for you. Or, if you have a new idea to share, tell us about it here and we will be in touch:
